Evaluation of Oedema and lymphatic function following volumetric modulated arc therapy for non-melanoma extensive skin field cancerisation of the lower limbs.
Trial overview
Non-melanoma Skin Cancer
To evaluate lower limb volume changes using lymphography scans and measurements around the limb receiving standard of care radiotherapy treatment, to monitor swelling experienced in the leg, during and up to 6-months post treatment. The study aims to provide a better understanding of factors which may influence swelling (lymphodema) during radiation treatment.
To be considered for the study you must meet the following criteria:
- Aged 50 years or older
- Have symptomatic extensive skin field cancerisation (ESFC) of the lower limb greater than 50cm2
- Be undergoing wide field (>50cm2) VMAT radiation therapy at GenesisCare trial sites in NSW
This study will utilize various assessment measures to observe and monitor any swelling that a patient experience in their leg during your treatment and for 6 months following completion of treatment. We anticipate that this study will give us better understanding of factors which may influence swelling during radiation treatment allowing GenesisCare to continue to provide excellence in patient care.
This is a GenesisCare sponsored trial that is not registered on ANZCTR or clinicalTrials.gov.
