Ed commenced his training in New Zealand, then moved to regional New South Wales for further training. There he gained experience in working in regional areas and across all tumour streams.

Ed finished his training in metro Brisbane, working in the tertiary hospital environment. Dr Sia became a Fellow in 2018.

Dr Sia established the Lung MDT at the Rockhampton Hospital and co-chairs the meeting. He is lecturer for the UQ Rural Clinical School and is an active participant in education and interns junior doctors.

Ed also supervises and educates the local principal house officers (PHO).

He is passionate about regional and rural health care, and aims to offer high-quality care to his patients throughout their treatment journey.

Dr Sia is proactive in engaging with his colleagues through education, and increasing awareness of radiation therapy in the management of cancer.
